16:9 interlaced qCIF (180 pixel width, 1/4 of standard PAL)

90 Kbps ov video wrapped in an mpeg4 media base format (MBFF, ISO 14496-16, overall 180 Kbps) and stream as TS proxed by Apache.
The audio is a AAC VBR which bitrate spans from 90 to about 180 Kbps. Despite of this bitrate wasting, the result to my hears is not good enough.

In order to test the streaming capability, I've used a small portion (about 600 seconds) of the movie Home realised by Yann Arthus Bertrand in 2009, copyright Europa Corp, publicly viewable on many web sites. I've added a specific page with all the disclaimer and additional informations.

The video here embedded is heavy compressed and has two further level of information reduction: the interlacing (a field, half image every 1/50 of second instead of progressive and the usage one quarter horizontal resolution. In the mid 90ies we used to call half-D1 the half horizontal resolution PAL encodings, with a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 2:3 (the horizontal double of the PAR standard 4:3) in order to obtain the Display Aspect Ratio of 16:9 despite the number of horizontal pixel have been halved.

The embedded stream can be directly loaded by VLC as http://www.iginomanfre.it/rh_mp4_hCIF_90_TS.
The video is a h264 16:9 anamorphic 90 Kbps CBR 25 frame per second interlaced with 90 Kbps AAC-LC stereo 48KHz audio compressed with Rhozet Carbon Coder
The overall bitrate is 190 Kbps VBR. To this bitrate must be added the overhead of DVB TS streamer chosen because VLC FLV streamer suffers of looping problems (it does not loops).

This is a live streaming, not based on a slice downloaded material (such as Dinamic streaming ones are).
Here to squeeze the video down to 90Kbps the GoP is 100. In h264 the concept of GoP has been widened: here within 100 frames there are only 4 reference (intra) frame interpolated by B and P frames. The reproduction may be in any case affected by network problems. In case of lost of information (and the high compression rate of h264 is prone to these problems) one or two frame skip may happen and -- in this case -- it is also possible that object gains a green coma behind them if the last good frame was a B/P frame. (not a reference frame)
This is the TSreader output of this stream
